Strolling Into the Night

Anna sighed, "He's like you were," she muttered and looked around the large, freshly painted egg-shell white living room with all sorts of antique furniture, practically making the place look like a room on the Titanic.

Caleb raised a brow at her, "And you said yes?" he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.

Kiran frowned slightly, "That doesn't sound good for Eliya." he mumbled, looking around the room with his head cocked to the side.

Eliya frowned, "What? I said I'd let him take me on one date." she mumbled, cocking her head to the side to study him.

Anna pursed her lips, "Let's just hope he has better self-control," she mumbled, knowing how awful that must have sounded when she began for their kitchen, realizing there was something like twelve feet to the ceiling.

Caleb pursed his lips, "Motherfucker is fast," he mumbled before he began to leave the room to find Tessa; figuring he'd have some fun with this.

Kiran frowned and didn't follow her, instead he headed for wherever their bedroom was.

Tessa sat in her room, she couldn't sleep so she sat on her windowsil reading a Junie B. Jones book, an intense look on her face as she was lost in the mysteries and hilarity of first grade with Junie.

Anna sighed as she dumped her leather jacket onto one of the barstools by the kitchen island, hunger twisting in her belly as she frowned, realizing that they had no food whatsoever in that goddamn house.

Caleb went over his possibilities as he moved towards Tessa's room, "Tess?" he called softly, knowing that Kenny probably already knew he was there as he knocked on his daughter's door.

Kiran found it and took off his shoes before crawling into bed, so tired, he pulled the covers over him and went to sleep.

Tessa hopped off her windowsil, folding the corner of the page to mark her place, "Yeah daddy?" she said, pulling open her door to look up at him, a smile on her pretty face.

Anna crinkled her nose as she glanced up the stairs, a frown tugging on her pretty lips before she grabbed her jacket and her car keys and began outside, figuring that she'd do groceries instead of playing lonely housewife at god-knows-what in the morning.

Caleb smiled warmly at her, "Mommy's going on a date with Uncle Kiran's brother," he muttered, pouting a bit, "You wanna come scare the living hell out of him?"

Tess frowned deeply, "Why is mom going on a date with him?" she mumbled, "How are we gonna scare him away?"

Caleb crinkled his nose, "She doesn't like me anymore," he said softly, knowing that might have been a bit harsh but figuring it'd do the trick, "Maybe we should remind him how many babies she has?"

Tess frowned, thinking this through before she nodded slightly, a small mischievious smile forming on her lips, "Then he'll leave and you can get mom to like you again, right?" she mumbled, taking his hand.

"Exactly," Caleb muttered and gently squeezed her hand, "You wanna wake up the others for me and bring them downstairs in five minutes?"

Tessa nodded, "You can count on me daddy." she grinned and started across the hall to wake up Cassy and then the twins and the boys and all her other siblings.

Caleb grinned to himself as he ran his fingers through his hair and started downstairs to meet Kenny officially.

Kendric sat on Caleb's couch and drank Caleb's liquor and planned on fucking Caleb's woman, he ran his tongue along his teeth, loving the taste of whiskey as it went down, wondering where Eliya had run off too when he glanced towards the stairs, rolling his eyes when he saw Caleb coming down them.

Caleb pursed his lips as he studied Kenny, hardly considering him a threat as he went down the stairs and sat in the leather chair in front of him, "Enjoying my things, Hawthorne?"

Kenny grinned crookedly and held his glass up to him, "Very much so." he breathed, knowing he should be wary but not.

Caleb smirked as he studied him closely and reached out to grab the glass that he knew had been Anna's, "Good," he muttered, pouring a full glass of whiskey, "So, fearing that I'm gonna sound like the paranoid father hiding a sawed off shotgun behind my chair, in case you said anything wrong about my girl; what do you want with her?"

Kenny ran his tongue along his teeth again, "Mm, I want to fuck her brains out." he shrugged, "I want her, all of her." he said, his blue-silver eyes darkening.

Caleb ran his pierced tongue over his teeth as he grinned, locking eyes with him as his pale, green eyes darkened, "You know, there's a certain responsibility that I expect you to take care of if you're dating my woman," he said in a more serious tone.

Kendric raised a brow, "Oh yeah, what's that Caleb?" he muttered, taking a sip of his drink.

Caleb shot back his drink before he licked his lips, glancing back towards the stairs, "Tess," he called before looking at Kenny with a crooked grin.

Kenny glanced back at the stairs as Tessa and her little army of siblings all came down the stairs at once, his eyes widened with surprise as they all came towards them, "Holy shit." he muttered under his breath, looking at all their faces as they all started to speak at once.

Caleb breathed a laugh as he poured himself a new drink and leaned back casually, "Kids, say hello to your mom's date," he said, a wicked grin curving his lips as he was obviously enjoying this.

The kids stopped talking and then moved towards Kenny, again all talking at once; Cassy stood in front and she tugged on Kenny's sleeve, "Hey, you wanna play dollies wit me?" she said, trying to yell over the chatter of all her other siblings. Kenny looked a little horrified by all of them like they were the Children of the Corn come to sacrifice, like they were a sea of little Damiens from the Omen.

That's awful! Damien is the scariest child ever!

Caleb grinned wickedly before he snapped his fingers, "I think that's enough excitement for tonight," he said softly, gesturing for all of his kids to disperse before he looked at Kenny again, "That," he said, "That is your fucking responsibility if you decide to do this." there was no longer any sign of amusement in his voice, just deadly seriousness.
