Strolling Into the Night

Kiran bounced the little baby in his arms and sighed as Logan stood before him, his son was so grown, he looked how he dreamt him to look and more, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything to him as he waited for Caleb to come back and explain everything.

Caleb swallowed hard as he went downstairs and he didn't even breathe before he stood in front of his best friend, "Kiran," he started, his eyes narrowing a bit as he tried to think of how to explain everything, "Three years ago, Nefritira poisoned Logan."

Kiran frowned deeply, "Who's Nefritira?" he asked softly, glancing at Logan, "How did she poison you?"

Eliya made noises in her sleep, her body tensed, her back arching as she grit her teeth, "J-j-j-ackal-" she moaned in pain, gnashing her teeth together so hard her gums started to bleed.

Caleb sighed, running his fingers through his hair, "Nefritira is Eliya's daughter," he mumbled, glancing at Logan as he thought this through, "As far as I know, they got nasty."

Anna bit her lip hard as she sat on the bed next to Eliya, "Elle?" she breathed, reaching out to touch her face as worry creased her forehead.

Caleb nodded, "To put it nicely," he said calmly, ignoring Kira's curious eyes scrutinizing his face as he went on, "Lucille caught them and Logan.." he paused for a few moments, needing to calm himself already, "Logan hurt her, and he tried to hurt Tessa."

Anna's eyes widened, "Oh my god," she breathed and got on her knees next to her, "Elle?" she said through her teeth, taking her face in her hands as she tapped her cheek.

Kiran's eyes darkened, "And then what happened?" he said softly, not looking at Logan anymore.

Eliya shuddered, "I feel them..." she whispered, the color draining further from her face.

Caleb's jaw clenched, "I killed him," he said, holding his best friend's gaze as he waited for him to blow up.

Anna frowned deeply, "Who?" she breathed, her stomach churning as she ran her fingers over Eliya's hair.

Kiran's jaw clenched and he studied his bestfriend, he felt flush with rage but he ignored it, knowing on some level Caleb had done the right thing, "And how did it lead to this?" he said, holding up the baby.

"The Jackal and Nefritira." Eliya said softly, her lids to heavy to open when a convulsion arched her back and she gritted her teeth against the agony of it.

"Nefritira got pregnant," Caleb muttered, "And the Monster that came out of it raped Celeste, which led to that little creature."

Anna ground her teeth, "What's happening to you?" she breathed.

Kiran swallowed hard, "My son bred a monster and a rapist with his half-sister." he said, not bother to hide the look of disgust that came over his face, it made Logan cringe and he moved away from them to the kitchen, not wanting to face that look on his father's face.

Eliya clutched at her chest, ripping at her robe, ripping it open as blood bubbled up agaisnt the skin as if someone unknown was cutting into her flesh.

Caleb sighed, glancing after Logan, "Not by his own free will," he said softly.

Anna's eyes widened further and it wasn't long before a scream bubbled into her throat and she cried out for Kiran, needing him to take care of things like always.

Kiran: uh, that hoodoo shit is Caleb's specialty...call me when you need to fight robots or clones...

Kiran's head snapped up towards the stairs and he handed the baby to Jason with instructions to be careful before bounding up the steps, expecting Caleb to follow.

Caleb frowned deeply and made a quick turn on his heel before he started after Kiran; absolutely astonished with Anna's incapability to do as she was told.

Kiran pushed open the bedroom door as Eliya's body arched back at an impossible angle the blood broke the skin, as something seemed to drag its claws down Eliya's chest, the air around them hissed with evil things and a chant could be heard beneath the wind, "Mother, mother, mother..."

Anna crawled off the bed as Caleb's eyes darkened to nearly black, "Motherfuckers," he said through his teeth, watching Eliya as he tried to summon Nefritira mentally.

Nefritira didn't appear as Eliya's spine nearly bent in half and the chanting got louder and louder, she screamed at the top of her lungs, blood escaping her lips when she was suddenly thrown backwards against the pillows, she was deathly pale and her breath came in short gasps.

Caleb's eyes widened as he moved to her side and carefully took her face in his hands, "Eliya," he whispered, brushing his thumb over her lips; not caring about the blood, "Eliya, tell me what to do, tell me how to help you.."

Eliya made a sputtering noise, "The Jackal and Nefritira..." she gasped, her lids fluttered as pain made her body tense, ribbons of blood running down her chest and abdomen.

Caleb's lips twisted as he studied her, his heart clenching with worry for his woman, "What Jackal?" he breathed, "Are they doing this to you?"

Eliya didn't answer, her eyes shut completely and she seemed limp, almost lifeless. Kiran swallowed hard, "Is she...?" he mumbled, frowning.

Caleb shook his head, "No," he breathed, running his fingers over her hair; a hopeless feeling settling into his core.

Kiran swallowed hard as Logan came up the stairs, "Caleb?" he said softly, "Come downstairs."

Caleb sat there for a few more moments, composing himself before he got up and moved past his best friend to walk downstairs, not looking at any of them.

The Jackal was not a mere jackal nor was he really a man but he appeared to be; he was a handsome, brutish bastard with a mess of dark curls down to his shoulders, his eyes were black obsidian with points of bright fire in the centers, he wore a malicious grin, his teeth like razors; he radiated primal power, animalistic and raw, a monster in a black suit. Nefritira stood beside him, her hand wrapped around his bicep, the Monster was crouched on his other side, becoming somehow troll-like, his skin seemed to be chalkier, wet, and disgusting, "Where's daughter?" he hissed through his teeth, his eyes shifty.

"Gone," Caleb said cooly, his eyes like green chunks of ice as he looked between them, "I killed her."

"Liar." The Monster hissed, wanting to tear the man limb from limb, rage boiling in every ounce of his blood, "Give mother, give daughter." he screamed.

Caleb folded his hands in front of him with absolutely no trace of emotion in his face, "You get /nothing/," he said, almost spitting the words like they were venom.

The Jackal emitted a rumbling growl from his chest, the prelude to his speech, "My dear king, when did you think you had a choice?" he said, his words a low rumble, he turned to Tira, "Bring me a nice, ripe one sister, one with Mother's eyes." he watched as she disappeared and reappeared crushing Luce to her chest as she struggled.

Caleb's jaw clenched as he took a step towards Nefritira, "Let. Go," he said through his teeth, his eyes darkening into blackness as sudden power began to rumble beneath his skin.

Nefritira jerked Luce's head back, she looked up at Jackal as the girl whimpered and waited for him to speak, only he was her master, brother, lover. He smiled and in a blurred movement, he reached inside Lucille and ripped out her intestines.

Caleb's gorgeous features twisted in that moment and his eyes became pitch black; the faint rumble of uncontrolled power in his flesh becoming a loud and screaming fire as he moved forward and in an unbelievably fast movement, he reached into the Jackal's chest and grabbed a hold of his heart, wanting to rip it from its strings, but not yet; "You have no idea, who you're fucking with," he said through his teeth, something dark and unlike him in his voice.

The Jackal's lips vibrated with a growl, "And you no not the creature you speak to." he said, blackness pulsating under his skin. Nefritira felt her spine tense as she studied the two men, she'd drop Lucille to the floor and therefor didn't notice when her seemingly lifeless body began to twitch.

"Fuck you," Caleb spat, like the words were poisonous as he tightened his hold on the motherfucker's heart.

Nefritira felt air start to cackle and she finally looked down at Lucille, whose organs had found their way back to her body and had healed quite well, she gasped as air began to fill her lungs again and her heart began to pump blood back into her body and she sat up, the movement of which made Nefritira scream as if she'd never seen a woman come back from the dead before.

Caleb briefly glanced at Nefritira's expression and he didn't need to take another look at his daughter, "Welcome back," he breathed before his hand twisted and he moved his arm to rip out the Jackal's heart.
